The research-driven Wood Cluster Styria (Holzcluster Steiermark, HCS) represents the Forest-Region of Styria. HCS comprises 150 partners covering the complete wood value-added chain, with focus on sawmilling, forestry and wood building industries. Research and development is carried out inside the cluster, a strong partnership with RTD partners exists inside the cluster and in overall Styrian network. In particular, the Holzcluster Steiermark gives cluster- services for the wood industry sector, with a target focus on the provision of information Technology and business solutions (Benchmark, wood logistic, wood works etc.) services of innovation (wood innovation center, TU Graz, Engineering center wood for developing new products and producing pilot products), support to the internationalization processes with the focus on South-East Europe countries and territories where the institution in a decade of activity developed and strengthen cooperation on the overall economic, political and research system. In addition Holzcluster Steiermark supports the regional development trough marketing activities and PR for wood industry, wood network and companies and has a key lobbying role with decision makers and strategic institutions for the benefit of the entire wood value added chain.
